Overton Park

The original location and known as The Brooks Museum of Art.

Gallop into the Year of the Horse at Memphis’ art museum with our annual Lunar New Year Community Day! This vibrant, family-friendly celebration features dynamic lion dancers, elegant fan dance performances, live music, and interactive art-making activities inspired by Lunar New Year traditions. Enjoy delicious food and explore the sights and sounds of this beloved holiday celebrated across many Asian cultures. Whether you’re reconnecting with heritage or discovering something new, come celebrate community, culture, and creativity with us!

Film Screening

After the performances, stick around for a screening of Far East Deep South, a film exploring the often overlooked history of Asian immigrants in the American South. *Far East Deep South is mostly a family friendly film but please be aware there are a few racial slurs used in historical context as a few people give first-hand accounts of being subject to demeaning comments.
