Many forms of expression through art

The Pride Collective exists to ensure that LGBTQ+ artists and audiences are represented and celebrated at Memphis Art Museum.

Our mission is rooted in the belief that museums should reflect the communities they serve—not only in their programming, but in their permanent collections and public presence. Through art acquisitions, inclusive events, and a strong sense of community, the Pride Collective helps shape a museum that’s more connected to the city around it.

Member programs

Art & Aperitifs
A guided conversation that slows down to spend time with an artist, exhibition, or a single work of art.
Visit with Artists
An informal, intimate space to engage with creators, offering unique insights into their artistic process and, occasionally, exclusive studio tours.
Private Exhibition Tours
A privately-led exhibition tour, sometimes featuring special guests, followed by drinks and conversation.
Annual Pride Celebration
Gather for an additional annual event developed around LGBTQ+ creativity and the interests of the Collective. Details are announced each year.

What members make possible

LGBTQ+ art in Memphis’ collection

Annual contributions help Memphis Art Museum acquire work by LGBTQ+ artists and bring special exhibitions to the city.

Programs centered on LGBTQ+ expression

Member support helps the museum present artist conversations and exhibition programs centered on LGBTQ+ creativity. Artists can speak about their work on their own terms, while audiences have time to encounter it beyond a single label.

Membership levels

All Pride Collective members receive Art Club benefits and access to core Collective programming. Higher levels include experiences across all four museum Collectives and more personal access to artists, curators, and museum leadership.
