Memphis Art Museum holds more than 10,000 works of art spanning 5,000 years of human creativity. The museum brings nationally and internationally significant art, artists, and ideas to Memphis, while keeping that work grounded in the people and stories of this city.
Each year, more than 20,000 school-aged children visit the museum. For many students, a museum tour is a first chance to stand in front of original works of art, ask questions, and connect classroom learning to something real.
