Every spring we partner with a professor from the University of Memphis to teach an art history survey the way it should be taught, standing in front of the actual objects. Sessions move chronologically through the major movements, and our collection supplies the examples. This is the front door to the Memphis Art Museum's docent program. If you have thought about leading tours, start here. By the end you will know the material and you will know whether the role suits you. Taking the course commits you to nothing, so anyone who simply wants a spring of serious looking is welcome. Expect reading between sessions. (Date not final)
